Archery competition format
Individual competition
64 athletes participated in the preliminary round, also known as the qualifying round. Each participant shoots 72 arrows and ranks 1st to 64th based on the cumulative number of rings from the 72 arrows. Then match and compete based on the ranking, with the first place against the 64th place, the second place against the 63rd place, and so on.
The loser of the individual knockout stage bids farewell to the competition, and the winner enters the next stage until two athletes are determined to compete for the gold medal. Two semi-finals losers compete for the bronze medal.
The individual competition adopts a game winning system. Shoot 3 arrows per round. The athlete with the highest score (total score of three arrows in a single game) will receive 2 points, and if both teams have the same score, they will each receive 1 point. The athlete who first scores 6 innings wins.
If the two sides draw after five games (with a score of 5-5), there will be a playoff where each athlete shoots an arrow. The one whose arrow is closer to the bullseye wins.
Team competition
The team competition also adopts a game winning system, but they shoot 6 arrows per game instead of 3 arrows. The first team to score 5 innings wins.
If the four games are tied (with a score of 4-4), each athlete from each team will take turns shooting an arrow to determine the winner. The team with the closest final score to the bullseye wins the game.
