Within China
Four national competitions are held annually according to regulations: the National Archery Championship, the National Indoor Archery Competition, the National Youth Archery Competition, and the National Outdoor Archery Championships. In addition, there is an archery competition at the National Comprehensive Games.
International competitions
The Asian Archery Championships: held once every two years, with each participating country allowing four male and four female athletes to compete. Competition events: Single round all-around (men's 90, 70, 50, 30 meters, women's 70, 60, 50, 30 meters), individual and team Olympic knockout finals. Taking the 10th Asian Archery Championships in 1999 as an example, 88 athletes from 14 countries and regions participated in the competition.
The Asian Games: held once every two years, and all member countries of the Asian Arrows Federation can participate in the competition. The competition events are: single round all-around (men's 90, 70, 50, 30 meters, women's 70, 60, 50, 30 meters), Olympic knockout finals, and there is no age limit for participants in the competition.
Youth World Championships: held once every two years, open to all member countries of the International Arrows Federation. The competition events are: single round all-around (men's 90, 70, 50, 30 meters, women's 70, 60, 50, 30 meters), individual and team competitions in the Olympic knockout finals require all participating athletes to be under 18 years old (including 18 years old).
World Indoor Archery Championships: held every two years, open to all member countries of the International Archery Federation. Competition events: Ranking competition (60 arrows with a range of 18 meters), Olympic elimination competition for individuals and teams, with a range of 18 meters.
World Championships: held every two years, open to all member countries of the International Arrows Federation. Competition events: Single round all-around (men's 90, 70, 50, 30 meters, women's 70, 60, 50, 30 meters), Olympic knockout finals. At the 39th World Championships held in 199, 370 athletes from 53 countries and regions participated in the competition.
The Olympic Games are held once every four years, and all member countries are eligible to participate in the competition. The competition events are: ranking competition (70m, 72 arrows), individual and team events in the final of the Olympic knockout stage, with the same competition events for the men's and women's groups. The Olympic archery event only has 4 gold medals.
