The general rhythm of archery is divided into standing, raising the bow, opening the bow, aiming, and releasing the arrow. Since there are no sights for barebows and hunting bows, it is too late to perform area aiming when the bow is fully bowed. Because there are no sights, and the area aiming method uses the eyes to lock the aiming point, experienced archers know that the angle between the eyes and the arrow has become larger after the bow is fully bowed. If you use your eyes to estimate the arrow in this state, the longer you estimate, the less accurate it will be. In addition, when shooting at long distances with barebows and hunting bows, if you don’t have an aiming point and rely on feeling, it will be difficult without three to five years of basic skills!
Basic state of archery "A gentleman's inner will is upright, his body is straight, he holds the bow and arrow firmly, and then he can hit the target." From this sentence, we can see the importance of posture. In the process of archery, the three steps of raising the bow, opening the bow, and shooting the arrow are done by people. The posture should be consistent, and the body should not be deformed due to the force of opening the bow. This is the external state; the body should be relaxed and natural during the whole process, and the force should be pure. You cannot hold your breath, and use your nose to breathe abdominally. Focus on the target and feel like you are in a moment of meditation. This is the internal state; if this basic skill is not in place, the regional aiming method is only theoretical for you.
Reference to posture After repeated practice and summary, the regional aiming of the beauty hunting and light bow has already begun when the bow is opened. I wonder if you have found a problem, when you stand in a good posture and raise the bow, your body will turn sideways in the direction you hold the bow, because when the right hand (the opposite is true for the left hand bow) hangs the bowstring in the raised bow state, the distance of the bow stop cannot keep us upright at all, but it is slowly adjusted during the process of opening the bow. According to summary and practice, when archery athletes draw their bows (recurve competitive bows), they will stay for 1 to 2 seconds when their wrists are pulled to the corners of their mouths. The purpose of this stay is to adjust the posture before forming a full bow. The light bow and beauty hunting adopt the regional aiming method, which starts from the bow drawing action.
Aiming details: When you raise the bow with the string, it is in a half-drawn state. The bow drawing distance is 50% of the full bow state, which is enough for us to adjust our body. In the half-drawn state, the angle between the eyes and the arrow is relatively small, and the extension line from the arrow to the center of the bull's eye is very short, which makes it easier for us to lock the upper and lower aiming points. At the same time, the part of the thenar of the bow holding hand will feel a certain amount of support, and the back arm has a certain pulling force. Under this force, our body has been fully opened, and the parts that can be relaxed have been relaxed. In the latter 50% of the bow drawing, except for the movement of the back arm, the rest of the body will remain motionless. In this half-drawn state, what we have to do is to fine-tune the aiming point of the arrow through the front arm.
1First, the center line is locked, that is, the vertical line with the center of the bull's eye. In the half-open bow state, the arrow is just below the eye, and the arrow is facing the bull's eye. Because the bow is in a half-open state at this time, the angle between the arrow and the eye will be very small, and the extension line to the bull's eye is also very short. Directly locking the arrow to the center of the bull's eye will not bring us difficulty in the following upper and lower locking. After locking the center line, no matter whether the arrow we shoot is high or low, it will be at the center line position and will not deviate to the left or right.
2The second is the upper and lower point locking. Since the flight trajectory of the arrow is related to the poundage of the bow, there is no fixed point for the upper and lower locking. For example, if the shooting distance is 30 meters, the arrow shot by a 60-pound bow will fly in a straight line, and the arrow shot by a 30-pound bow will fly in a parabola; but don't worry, the angle between the eye and the arrow and the short extension line between the arrow and the bull's eye were mentioned earlier. So when we do the upper and lower locking, we only need to make a very small fine-tuning, which may be 1cm up and down, or 2, and it will definitely not be too much. After a group, the position of the upper and lower aiming points can be basically determined.
3 From the two points mentioned above, it can be seen that aiming is done in the half-drawn bow state, but there are some details that need attention. After locking the aiming point, the remaining 50% of the bow must be drawn while feeling the support of the front hand, and the back hand is drawing the bow at a constant speed. This can make the bow hand extremely stable, without left and right deviations, and can well control the range of the bow hand shaking. If the bow is drawn with instant force, the stability of the front hand will be destroyed. Don't relax when forming a full bow, and keep the strength. Many people slowly slide their hands forward after the full bow is in position, which is very fatal when shooting at long distances! Finally, one thing to explain is that it is very tiring to draw the bow in this way, and it is a test of basic skills.
